The Silk Compass is a round compass prong engagement ring that turns the classic four-prong solitaire a quarter turn. Instead of sitting at the corners, its four claws point north, south, east and west, so from above the round brilliant is framed by a quiet cross of gold. In profile, the head rises high and open, and the stone reads larger for it.
Each claw tapers to a fine rounded tip that grips the girdle with very little metal crossing the table. Beneath the stone, the prongs meet in a clean V-shaped head that leaves the pavilion open to light from every side. Slim cathedral shoulders sweep up from the band to support the head, then settle into a plain polished band with a rounded profile that tapers gently toward the setting.
